Engineered for reliability in demanding environments, this 8x8mm Surface Mount Tactile Switch combines a compact footprint with robust environmental protection. Featuring an IP67 rating, the switch is completely sealed against dust and withstands temporary immersion in water, making it ideal for outdoor electronics, industrial controls, marine equipment, and automotive interfaces where moisture or contaminants are a concern.

Despite its miniature size, the switch offers excellent electrical performance with a power rating of DC12V 50mA, ensuring consistent, low-contact resistance switching for digital circuits. To accommodate diverse ergonomic and design needs, the actuator height off the PCB is available from 4.5mm to 17mm. This wide range allows engineers to align the switch precisely with different panel thicknesses or user-interface requirements.

Crucially, for applications requiring extended reach, we have engineered a unique stability solution. When the actuator height exceeds 10mm, the switch incorporates an integrated support sleeve. This sleeve surrounds the base of the actuator, virtually eliminating lateral wobble and preventing binding or misalignment during off-center presses. Without this feature, tall actuators typically suffer from mechanical instability; our design retains a crisp, tactile feel even at maximum extension.

Operators can select from two distinct tactile operation forces: a light 160gf for rapid, fatigue-free sequential inputs, or a firm 250gf to prevent accidental actuation. Both options provide a sharp, discernible click that confirms switch engagement. This high-reach, low-wobble design unlocks new possibilities for 17mm stand-off applications, such as behind thick front panels, within deep mechanical assemblies, or on elevated daughterboards—all without sacrificing the waterproof integrity or tactile performance of a standard low-profile switch.
